Babies and Ballons

Ryan found my stash of balloons.
He learned how to blow them up and was excited at how they grow.
He wanted to share with his sister.
"Sophie, blow it up"
I told him, "Sophie is too little for balloons".
A little bit later I look over and see...

Luckily, she had a pacifier in her mouth.

Week in a Post

Here is our weekish in a nut shell

• In the amount of time it takes me to wash my hands: Ryan got Sophie off of our bed and onto the floor
• He also picked her up from the ground when she was laying on the floor
• Ryan peed in the potty
• He pooped in the bathtub (he called them "fuzzies")
  
• Sophie got shots and afterward would yell at the nurse if the nurse looked at her
• Ryan went to nursery without crying
  
• We stomped in puddles. Ryan wanted Sophie to stomp too.
  
• We went to the ward picnic

What a week!

Potty

After bath Ryan was standing there saying "potty, potty" and I was thinking "I do not have time for this" (because he usually just sits there forever).

So I lifted the lid for him and went to get the crying baby. I come back to him saying "under, under" (the seat has a little splash guard?)

And there was some wetness on the seat, but I wasn't sure if that was just from not drying him off, but sure enough there was quite a bit of pee in that little potty :)

Baby Sophie

Ryan came to the delivery room shortly after she was born. Here he is looking at his new big brother stickers.

Juice, yogurt and grandma's cell phone. At first, he wasn't so sure about me in a hospital gown. He warmed up to the idea eventually.

Ryan wanted to read her a story. This is the picture in "If you give a Mouse a Cookie" where he draws his family.

Everytime I lay Sophie down on her blanket Ryan wants to lie down next to her.

Scattered like seeds on the wind

The end of the school year is always an emotional time for me...

Is it better to be the one left behind?

Or the one leaving?

Is it harder to think of the friends I'm losing
or
to think that the boys, who make my toddler's face light up when he sees them, are moving?

God be with you till we meet again...

I guess all of this leaving has made me more grateful for the two boys who I don't have to leave every year.

Happy Birthday Ryan

Ryan turned two this week and we celebrated with the four days of Ryan's birthday.

On the first day of Ryan's birthday his parents gave to him...

(I forgot to put it away after finishing it and he fell in love)

I take credit for coloring the icing and baking the cake and the words/dots. Jesse did the main decorating. This cake is milk free as is the store bought icing :)

What do toddler's and preschoolers love? Balloons!!!

Opening a birthday card. It had a picture of Ryan and his friend playing together with happy faces drawn on the people.

I was told they were playing on the playground and happy together.

We finished off the birthday party with bubbles and stickers. All in all it was a good and enjoyable 2 year old party.

More Birthday

On the third day of Ryan's birthday his Grandma gave to him...

Three toy trains (and a train table)
This one makes "nooes" and it goes, but the battery doesn't last long so it has to take naps.

We set the train table up on Saturday. It was the only toy he played with for two days.

On the fourth (and actual birthday)
Ryan's parents gave to him four waffle pieces (with ice cream, sprinkles and dipper (syrup))
