Shopping Adventures

Last night I was playing with a stretching your food dollar website. They quoted our family with needing to spend almost $400.00 a month in groceries. Then when I clicked on no we spend less... it told me we must make our food dollar stretch.

Here is our latest shopping adventure. Jesse told me it looks like a grocery display. He is currently trying to find a place to put it all. Albertson's was having a wonderful sale. One of those buy this many and save four dollars. The beans and the enchilada sauce ended up being 75 cents and I really really like refried beans. And I don't think we'll need cereal for a least a few months. Sadly though they were out of frosted flakes so we had to substitute with Poptarts.

Here was the real deal... the cereal ended up being 1.50 a box which is pretty good for name brand cereal. Not to mention that these cereals may actually be good for one's body. Well turns out there are some dollar off coupons on the internet for these same cereals. 50 Cents a box!

Here is the reciept. Now granted we were at Albertson's and they are a bit pricey. So the $73.11 savigs is based on prices about 20 cents higher than Walmart.

  1. Jesse, watch out Katrina got those genes that impels one to find bargains. I think that her Aunt in WA has those genetics.
