Toddler Thoughts

We had just gotten done singing the song "Follow the Prophet" as part of his pre-bedtime scripture reading.
Ry: I want FHE!
Me: Why?
Ry: 'cause I wanna a treat!
Me: Oh, well it's not Monday.
Ry: And do Easter Eggs! (he takes the box of dye and throws it up in the air)

Well at least he likes Family Home Evening and we will have to dye eggs as our activity on Monday :)

Where does milk come from?

We asked Ry where milk comes from.

Me: Where does milk come from?
Ry: From the grocery store.
Me: Where does it come from before that?
Ry: My frigerater
Me: Did you know milk comes from mommy cows?
Ry: (Thinks about that for a moment). Oh cows wanna share da milk with me (Nods and smiles).

Something to Learn from my Toddler

The other day we were eating tacos. Ryan wanted a tortilla and I had two choices; a torn in half soft flour one or a corn one that was whole. He chose the corn. Then he wanted the toppings in it and to roll it up. Not just roll it in a tube, nope. He wanted it rolled and tucked in like a full blown burrito. If you have ever tried rolling a cold corn tortilla you will know that it was disastrous. After a few tears he agreed to the flour tortilla. It rolled perfectly (and probably tasted better).

How often do I do this? No, Heavenly Father, I want it this way. No, no it will work. I can do it, don't try to stop me. Then it doesn't work. I can only hope that I can be half as gracious as he is as my children make mistakes, and they ask for my help in fixing them.
