Dying Easter Eggs

I finally took the photos off of my camera. Only took me 4 months :(

Flash back to the past and see Ryan dying eggs with his dad.

Toddler Thoughts

We had just gotten done singing the song "Follow the Prophet" as part of his pre-bedtime scripture reading.
Ry: I want FHE!
Me: Why?
Ry: 'cause I wanna a treat!
Me: Oh, well it's not Monday.
Ry: And do Easter Eggs! (he takes the box of dye and throws it up in the air)

Well at least he likes Family Home Evening and we will have to dye eggs as our activity on Monday :)

Name Letters

Maybe if I am accountable on the blog, I will finish more projects?
Well here are two of the three I finished this week. The other one is a Christmas scrapbook page for the Sophs.

I think I like how they hang down

The more traditional orientation.

Where does milk come from?

We asked Ry where milk comes from.

Me: Where does milk come from?
Ry: From the grocery store.
Me: Where does it come from before that?
Ry: My frigerater
Me: Did you know milk comes from mommy cows?
Ry: (Thinks about that for a moment). Oh cows wanna share da milk with me (Nods and smiles).

Then we left the country

Onward to the Great White North!

We drove and drove and drove. Crossed the border and then got on a big boat.
Does it seem suspicious that we are from Indiana, cross from Washington, going to Canada and not meeting anyone? Don't people do that every day? Come on.

The biggest body of water he's ever seen is the pond at Grandma's house.

Beautiful

Look at those waves!

Brrrr!!!

You are getting sleepy.

Upon arriving in Victoria, we attempted to find a place to park. After figuring out the parking meters, we went into the Miniatures Museum. FYI for all. They do not take American credit cards and anything smaller than a dime will not give you any time. No need to fear, my grandma had adequately equipped me with Canadian coinage.

My grandma would love these.

If I push this button enough times, the train will come back.

Hey, who took my camera?

Click on this and read what it says on the window washer's platform.

Elephant Ears anyone?

The next day we say the Natural History Museum.

Maybe I could climb in there, just for a minute?

Puffy Coat!

In which we spent time with people

We spent a lot longer in Washington this year. It was wonderful because we got to see people.

The P family. Our little boys are only a few weeks apart. Angela and I spent many a stroller walk together in Provo. I miss having her so close by.

What a graduate program will do to you.

I think I can make it, mom.

We were suppose to go bowling with the P family, but the lanes were closed for league. So we went to the little bowling alley by my mom's house. Nothing like hand scoring and black lights :) Ryan loves crash'a booms!

The next day we had breakfast with my dad.

Some one got her wisdom removed, but she's okay.

She still had the ability to stack coffee creamer.

I'm just looking cute as can be. Oh those cheeks! I love them!

He refused to eat the pancake because it looked like a bear. Luckily, the sausage did not look like a pig.

Can we say too much food? No on told me the pancakes would be as big as my head and that there would be four of them.

Then we made fruit cake. Well really nut and fruit with a small smattering of cake.

Were you going to use this for something?

Cousin Randy seeks some time with the toy trains.

Then the real work begins.

It's a what? A Brazil Nut. Observe the technology-generation gap.

Chop, chop!

Randy sporting the Ove Glove

Yum! It's good, really. It's not dry at all. And is mostly stuff and very little batter.

Something to Learn from my Toddler

The other day we were eating tacos. Ryan wanted a tortilla and I had two choices; a torn in half soft flour one or a corn one that was whole. He chose the corn. Then he wanted the toppings in it and to roll it up. Not just roll it in a tube, nope. He wanted it rolled and tucked in like a full blown burrito. If you have ever tried rolling a cold corn tortilla you will know that it was disastrous. After a few tears he agreed to the flour tortilla. It rolled perfectly (and probably tasted better).

How often do I do this? No, Heavenly Father, I want it this way. No, no it will work. I can do it, don't try to stop me. Then it doesn't work. I can only hope that I can be half as gracious as he is as my children make mistakes, and they ask for my help in fixing them.
